Etton Parish Council is a tier of local government and provides the Parish of Etton (including the village of Etton and the hamlets of Gardham and Kiplingcotes) with a democratic voice and a structure for taking community action. Our work falls into three categories: representing the community; delivering services to meet local needs; striving to improve quality of life in the parish. Etton Parish Council has a small budget and some limited powers to provide services to meet local needs and improve community wellbeing. We work underneath the “principal authority” which is East Riding of Yorkshire Council and are a consultee on things like planning permissions. We are responsible for a number of structures (such as benches and lampposts) and pieces of land (including the village pond).
